Faster Inspections
The CV-5000 Series Vision System offers numerous technological advancements to meet the continually increasing demands of today’s industrial vision market for high-speed and ultra-precise vision inspections. These are described and illustrated in this downloadable “Vision Innovations” report.
High-speed processing and ultra-fast 2megapixel (7x) and 5 megapixel (11x) cameras have significantly reduced processing times to enable faster inspections that would normally be impossible given the constraints of conventional systems. Users would either have to reduce the number items they are inspecting or reduce the number of inspection tools used by the vision system in order to increase throughput. Examples of high-speed flaw, print defect and debris inspections performed at 20,000 inspections/min. are described and illustrated.
Determining Pixel Resolution
The report describes the method for determining the accuracy of a vision system given the size of the field-of-view and the pixel resolution of the camera. A chart contains data for both 2 and 5 megapixel cameras. Included is an example of using a 5 megapixel camera to image an entire large area (field-of-view) while maintaining the resolution required for the inspection.
Ultra-small Cameras Increase Mounting Flexibility
The KEYENCE CV-5000 Series offers a complete lineup of high-performance compact monochrome and color cameras. This includes the Ultra-small 12mm (0.47”) square (310K) and 17mm (0.67”) square (2megapixel) models, enabling installation in locations where conventional cameras cannot be mounted. In addition, the availability of side view attachments further increase installation flexibility and mounting options.
