After a demanding eighteen month trial Videology’s newest ATM camera has met or exceeded all performance goals. The 1/3” WDR camera withstood rigorous testing at all test sites - the desert heat of Arizona, urban environments in Los Angeles and residential neighborhoods in New Jersey. Videology’s ATM camera (model 20B705-ATM) is now the hands-down camera of choice for one of the largest global manufacturers of automatic teller machines.
OEMs, banks and national installers demanded improved performance. They needed a universal camera that captured sharp, discernable facial images at any ATM installation site – from outdoor locations in harsh, sunlit parking lots to indoor ATMs installed in dimly lit malls. They also insisted that the camera be simple to install and modestly priced.
Multiple camera manufacturers took place in the trials. Videology’s ATM camera was the only device to consistently achieve high quality facial images and meet the simple installation/low price requirements.
Testing addressed commonly experienced dynamic range issues. Faces captured at ATMs are often “blacked out” as a detrimental effect of harsh backlighting. The same effect may occur in dim lighting. Inferior cameras are unable to clearly capture a facial image, negating the expectation of ATM video surveillance – to visually connect the offender with the crime.
Videology engineers undertook multiple redesigns before the camera was perfected and accepted. The refining process included extensive on-site optimization and redesign.
Videology’s high-performing, modestly priced ATM camera is in stock and available to all ATM OEMs and large-scale banking institutions.
